Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) - Points-tested stream
A permanent skilled visa for invited workers who do not need an employer or state sponsor. Applicants must nominate an eligible occupation, hold a suitable skills assessment, satisfy the points test, and be invited to apply.
Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) - Core Skills stream
An employer-sponsored temporary skilled visa for nominated workers in the Core Skills stream, where the employer is addressing a labour shortage and the nominated role meets the stream rules.
Canadian Experience Class
A federal permanent-residence pathway for skilled workers who have at least one year of authorized skilled work experience in Canada (TEER 0–3), meet language minimums, and plan to live outside Quebec. Candidates compete for invitations through Express Entry.
Federal Skilled Worker Program
A federal permanent-residence pathway for skilled workers with foreign work experience. Candidates must satisfy the Federal Skilled Worker minimum requirements and score at least 67 out of 100 selection-factor points before competing for an invitation through Express Entry.
Stay and work permit for highly qualified workers (EU Blue Card)
An employer-linked Croatian stay and work permit for highly qualified jobs with at least a one-year employment contract with a Croatian-registered employer, higher-education qualifications, and regulated-profession conditions where applicable. Apply at a Croatian mission or local police administration. MUP lists administrative fees for the permit and biometric residence card.
EU Blue Card
A German residence route for qualified professionals with an employment contract or binding job offer, recognized or comparable higher education, and the applicable gross annual salary threshold. The official page also describes special rules for some IT professionals without a formal qualification.
Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
A German job-search residence route for non-EU skilled workers. It is designed to help candidates look for qualified employment in Germany, typically for up to one year, with limited part-time work while searching. Finding a qualifying job can lead to a longer work residence title such as the EU Blue Card.
Top Talent Pass Scheme
A Hong Kong talent admission route with Category A for high annual income, Categories B and C for graduates of eligible universities, and no Hong Kong job offer required at initial application.
Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services
A Japan work residence status for technical, humanities, and certain foreign-culture-based activities performed under a contract with a public or private institution in Japan.
Employment Pass (Category I–III)
An employer-sponsored Malaysian work-pass route for expatriates hired by an ESD-registered company. The ESD guidebook describes company registration and activation, expatriate application, Employment Pass categories, supporting-agency processes, and pass endorsement.
Residence Permit for Highly Skilled Migrants
A Netherlands residence permit for highly skilled work based on an employment contract with an IND-recognised sponsor and an indexed salary criterion.
Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)
A New Zealand work visa for a full-time job offer from an accredited employer, with job-specific conditions, up to five years for most jobs, and possible residence options depending on the occupation.
Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa
A New Zealand resident visa for applicants aged 55 or younger with an accredited-employer skilled job or offer, six skilled-resident points, English, and the other residence requirements.
Residence for employed (subordinate) work
A Portuguese long-stay path for non-EU workers with a work contract or promise of contract for subordinate employment. Applicants typically obtain a residence visa abroad (about four months to enter and apply for a residence permit), then a temporary residence permit that is generally renewable. After five years of legal temporary residence, permanent or EC long-term residence may be available when language, means, and other conditions are met.

An employer-sponsored Singapore work pass for foreign professionals, managers, and executives with a job offer in Singapore who meet the qualifying-salary and, unless exempted, COMPASS requirements.
Residence authorisation for highly qualified professionals
An employer-linked Spanish residence-and-work route for a foreign professional who will perform work requiring higher-education qualifications or, exceptionally, equivalent professional experience.
Golden Residence - talented geniuses
A ten-year renewable Golden Residence route for exceptional talent in culture and arts, innovation and invention, athletics, or digital technology, with nomination and category-specific evidence.
Green Residence - self-employment
A self-sponsored UAE residence permit for a freelancer or self-employed person who holds a Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation permit and meets the education and income/solvency conditions.
Skilled Worker visa
A UK work and residence route for an eligible job with an approved employer, a certificate of sponsorship, the required salary, and English-language ability. GOV.UK says the visa can last up to five years and may support settlement after five years when the other conditions are met.
H-1B Specialty Occupations
A US employer-sponsored nonimmigrant classification for services in a specialty occupation requiring highly specialized knowledge and a directly related bachelor’s degree or equivalent. USCIS describes an employer petition, a certified Labor Condition Application, and an electronic registration process for cap-subject cases.
